With the beautiful Napier Park as a reminder of what the land was like before white settlement in the very early days of Melbourne's genesis and some lovely mansions remaining from those early settler days, Strathmore is a bit of a ruby in the dust amongst the inner suburbs. Also home to what was Melbourne's international air gateway , where were greeted such esteemed visitors as The Beatles and Frank Sinatra among others. The name Essendon Airport was even adopted by a group of local post-punk musicians who went on to become the successful I'm Talking. There's an interesting history here that you might otherwise be unaware of.
To celebrate this under-the-radar (pun intended) suburb 3rd Stone Designs presents this wonderful laser-cut map in MDF and acrylics. As a gift for yourself, a friend or loved one who lives, works in or just plain loves this place it is an absolute attention grabber and keeper. Your friends won't be able to help but engage with the level of detail when they get up close.
A restrained combination of colours and textures, this piece will keep drawing you back in for another look and you will be delighted by people's reactions to it.
